GEORGES MARTIN
Georges Martin est un céramiste français, né à Saint-Michel-de-Maurienne le 10 juin 1932 et mort à Brunoy le 16 octobre 2020.
Georges Martin s’initie à la céramique avec Loul Combres au Pesquis près de Narbonne en 1965 puis avec Bernard Buffat dans l’atelier de Madeleine de Valence à La Grange aux Potiers à Gervans dans la Drôme de 1966 à 1970.
En 1968 il crée son premier atelier à Plats (Ardèche) où il développe une pratique singulière de la céramique (grés et porcelaine) et des cuissons au bois.
De 1968 à 1979, il demeure dans l’atelier de Charray à Plats (Ardèche), puis de 1980 à 2001 travaille dans l’atelier de Saint-Vincent-de-Gras à proximité de Saint-Remèze (Ardèche).
En 2001, il quitte Saint-Vincent-de-Gras pour s’installer à Tananarive (Madagascar).
